Business Concepts
Business Concepts is a course in which students will learn what business is, what businesses do, and how business affects everyday life. Students will be applying these business concepts to different facets of their lives in order to make them more effective and forceful workers, consumers, and citizens.
Business Concepts is a year-long transcripted credit course where students can get college credit through Gateway Technical College for passing with a 70% or above.
DDHS BUSINESS STUDENTS BECOME EVERFI CERTIFIED

The DDHS Business Concepts students apply their knowledge through two simulations in EVERFI, an online educational platform. Students must get a 70% or higher in each module to become certified.

The EVERFI Marketplaces simulation explores key economic and investing topics to learn how the government, corporations, and individuals participate in the financial marketplace.

The EVERFI Venture simulation walks through the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, from creating a business plan to performing market research, in a food-truck simulation.
The Business Education department is proud to announce that 49 students became certified for EVERFI Marketplaces and 57 students became certified for EVERFI Venture in the 2021-2022 school year.
DDHS BUSINESS CONCEPTS CLASS CREATES FOOD TRUCKS

To close out first semester, Ms. Becke’s Business Concepts class completed a Food Truck development project in which the students created a business and model food truck. Each student presented their business ideas to the class and collected feedback from Ms. Becke and their peers. Food truck ideas included sushi, donuts, coffee, slushies, and more!
